Recently, UNLV President Keith E. Whitfield shared an update on the campus’s return to campus for Spring 2022 in which he advised that “Based on our own faculty experts and public health officials, we don’t anticipate the latest surge (Omicron) of the virus to begin to subside until the latter part of February or even the first part of March.”
With that being the case, in consultation with several FWPCA stakeholders, I have made the decision to hold this year’s conference, which is scheduled to take place March 4-6, remotely rather than in person.
There are several layers of logistics to this move that I will figure out over the coming weeks, and I will be updating the conference on this website as I get new information.
Right now, the plan is to have a less formal “reception”/discussion Friday night, with a full day of remote sessions on Saturday and, if neccesary, on Sunday.
The new registration fee for online attendance will be $35. If you have already paid your registration for the conference, I will be working with UNLV’s financial folks to get you a refund.
